EFP-06 Broad Band Electric Field Probe

Broad Band Electric Field Probe

The EFP-06 electrode is a sealed PbPbCl2 type and is not required to be refilled with liquid. It is delivered in a reusable plastic transportation container which also keeps it wet.

EFP-06 Technical Specifications

EFP-06 Technical Specifications
Frequency Range DC - 100kHz
Contact Resistance 50 – 500 Ω (for normal soils)
Effective Surface 27 cm2
DC Potential A few mV, Self-Noise Level: 0.01- 0.001 mV
Temperature Range -10 to +50 °C
Temperature Drift -0.1 mV/°C [-10° - +50° C range] *
Weight Appr. 0.7 kg
Working Life 12-16 months; careful usage
External Dimensions L:114 x Ø:64 mm

* The temperature drift of two electrodes in the current circle is much lower 0.1 mV/°C because of the same electrical behaviour; electrodes can be used at a wider outside temperature range if buried deep enough

EFP-07 Broad Band Ag/AgCl Electric Field Probe

Broad Band Electric Field Probe

The electric field probe EFP-07 is a Ag/AgCl (silver/ silverchloride) electrode.

The electrode can be filled with environmental friendly saturated NaCl or KCl solution (3M NaCl or 3.5 M Kcl). This electrolyte can be made with 28g/l NaCl (normal salt) in distilled water (pure H2O).

The electrode needs 8-12 hours of pre-soaking in the electrolyte before being used.

Do not use contaminated water or water enhanced with chemical agents. This may seriously degrade the performance of the half-cell and might lead to a damage of the surface.

Measuring the contact resistivities between two electrodes, e.g. when placed in the ground or in an electrolyte bath, will degrade the electrode (cathode (-) and anode (+)). You will irreversible harm the Ag/AgCl electrode. Do not use these electrodes to inject currents! Tiny currents may not harm.
